Summer Camps

We offer two camp programs for Summer. Please note: Drop In ends with the school year.

Haverty Hollow Preschool Camp

Located at the Garden Hills Recreational Center, our camp for ages 3 – 5 is offered in one week increments from June through early- to mid-August. Preschool Camp hours are 9:30am – 1:30pm. Before and after camp care is not available for Preschool Camp. Children must be 3 and fully potty trained by the beginning of camp.

The children choose among a variety of activities throughout the day such as arts and crafts, cooking, tumbling, outside games, drama, music, and an optional swim time. You may choose for your child to try a swim test the width of the big pool to be able to use it during swim time, or select “wading pool” on your application. Naundi Briggs, a preschool teacher at Northside United Methodist Church, directs the camp. Ms. Haverty employs young people aged 11 – 16 to help watch and nurture the children.

Located at Haverty Hollow on East Beechwood, Frog Hollow Camp has served children aged 5-10 for many years. Camp hours are 10:00 am – 3:30 pm, with the day divided into six activity periods. Sessions are two weeks long. While campers take their daily swim lesson by age group, they are free to choose among the following for their other activity sessions:

  • arts and crafts – all kinds
  • sand play (outside) or building play (inside with blocks)
  • “cooking”
  • organized outside games
  • rope swing and zip line
  • nature walks
  • supervised, one-on-one wrestling
  • carpentry
  • creative writing
  • cheerleading
  • drama: scripting a short play presented at the session’s awards day

Please note: Children must be able to swim unaided to attend Frog Hollow.
